What are your opinions on Model Mayhem? I've heard a lot of bad things about it which is why I'm not on it but I'm often asked what my mm# is.

You're saying that people assume you`re @ Model Mayhem? I've only visited the site and I'm Friends with one of the Models who`s currently not active on there (at least i think so). Out of necessity, she`s workin` a "regular" job now and she`s not able to check in as often - if at all - to any sites she`s been a part of.. I`m not aware of any "bad things" though.

@PrincessCuppiecake - can`t you just say you're not on that site? Is it some kinda prerequisite so if you're not, they won't even look at you?

No it's nothing like that. It's more of, is it worth it to join the site kind of inquiry.

I haven't been on here long but I've been on MM for 4 years, one thing is finding local models to shoot with since there is a lot more members. It is a good way to show your work in an online port!

You should sign up. It's free. You don't have to reply to anything/anyone who doesn't seem to fit your goals/needs. Otherwise, you could get some paid gigs and meet new qualified people to expand and grow you're model experience. It is the internet so do be cautious. I've met many models on MM.

It is a resource and a good way to network. It is what you make of it. Just like anywhere else online, ignore the trolls and scammers.

I'd say it's a good site. Good networking tools and lets you easily connect with talent who share your style. The mods on MM seem a lot less heavy handed than say OMP so you have a little more freedom in expressing yourself. Then again, it also opens the door for people to sometimes act a little unprofessional. Overall, I consider it a great site and I'm there at least a few hours per week.

Yep. As others have said, it is what you make of it. I'd suggest having a profile there too. Due diligence is always appropriate and on Model Mayhem, that is as true as anywhere else. If you sign up (and to anyone else) feel free to send me a friend request! http://www.modelmayhem.com/2465784

Princess, I have been on Model Mayhem a number of years and I have no complaints. Of course, you need to weed out the bad apples as normal. It is free as long as you only have 15 images in it. I agree you should have a profile on MM.

As a photographer on MM the only thing there would be to complain about is a few of the models. Some are not dependable. I have seen many post about models not showing up and I have had at least 2 that didn't. However I agree with all the other comments it's one of the best site for getting out there and a lot of what people may consider high in photographers use it to find new talent. One of my favorites is Author St John.

MM can be good or bad, depending on how you use it. I'm a gatekeeper there and we try to keep riff-raff out. You would most certainly be welcome!
