Thanks @BoldDaniel and @photony . Shot this using lenses from the 60's. I just love the draw of those old lenses

my eyesight is such that I couldn't use them... I totally have to depend on the autofocus :(

It's called focus peaking @BoldDaniel - shot this on a NEX

I have no idea what that is

Ahhh! Many of the mirrorless cameras today use a feature called "focus peaking" to help with manual focus @BoldDaniel. Check it out on YouTube

I see, well I may have to do that though not likely going to pick up a mirrorless any time soon... maybe in 10 years :)

I got one primarily to use these old lenses @BoldDaniel. They are some of the best I've ever used

Cool. My next step is to purchase the prime lens I want to marry to the nearly new 30D I just picked up to be converted into infrared.

My favorite lens I ever used when shooting with Canon was the 135/2 L. There is nothing better @BoldDaniel

Much to long for infrared nudes in nature. I am leaning towards an 85mm

though I may got to 50 or 60

Haha no time for that :) Perhaps next week

Too long? Odd I use to use longer when shooting HIE and EIR @BoldDaniel. While the 85/1.2is nice the 135/2 is way sharper

Well, my fav lens is the 24-105 when it's on my 5D though I am now starting to use my new Sigma 70-200 2.8 a bit. 135 on a crop sensor would be very close to 200 on my full frame and I am ulmost never at that focal lengh

You should try it. Just take some extra steps back, the field flattening effect of a telephoto lens just gives far better subject separation and shallower DOF @BoldDaniel. Trust me you will love it

Well, actually the reason my fav lens is the 24-105 is because I like to shoot in locations that are tight for space and I tend to shoot up around f16-22 because I don't like shallow depth of fields lol
